Being a coffee drinker, you must have read on the package of your coffee either 100% Arabica or 70%Arabica / 30%Robusta etc..  and there is much more types and varieties of coffee beans. The difference between Arabica & Robusta coffee beans is major, followed by its price difference. Arabica coffee beans are harvested only above 1000m altitude, once a year. Where as Robusta can grow at low altitudes, with 3-4 times/year. 

Arabica Coffee is considered to be the top quality type of beans, because of its richness in pleasant flavors. The best coffee starts with the best knowledgable & dedicated farmer, & location. Roaster however at the last, is equally important. If amazing green coffee is burnt a bit more than it's supposed to be, all the work of the farmer is a waste.

FARM HISTORY

Roger Dominguez and his wife, Carmen Fiallos, have dedicated their lives to the production of coffee at Márcala in La Paz. The name of their 1,512masl coffee farm is called “Finca Las Flores”. They grow Catuai variety and have different types of trees (musaceas, guachipilin, pepeto, and orange) planted to provide coffee plants with the necessary shade for their growth.

Finca Las Flores works hard on each process, using very strict standards of quality, harvesting only the ripest of cherries. Their goal is to improve their milling process and to become specialty coffee exporters. They dry the coffee under the sun and constantly check the quality by taking samples to the IHCAFE lab. They are part of the Origin Denomination project that has been supported by IHCAFE.
